Alfred is the AI engine that powers the Reflexivity platform. Alfred alerts you to emerging patterns or events that may impact your universe as Insights. You can also extract information from Alfred via natural language using ‘Ask Alfred’
Ask Alfred
You can chat with Reflexivity using natural language through the Alfred tab on the navigation bar, or by entering a question into the chat bar at the bottom of your screen.
Alfred is currently broken down into two segments - Ask Alfred and Document Search.
Alfred is able to answer complex questions that require deep thinking and analysis with data from a wide range of sources.
You can toggle between two modes in Alfred - Auto and Deep Research.
Auto Mode will first determine if your question can be answered quickly via web sources. If you know you want to run computational analysis, use Deep Research instead.
When you select Deep Research, Alfred will outline and follow a complex set of analytical steps to produce an answer to an open-ended data question – including key findings, supporting evidence, flexible visualizations, and a summary.
Deep Research intentionally takes a few minutes to generate a response. Read more about response times in Alfred.
Web Sources in Alfred
Alfred can supplement its response with information from the internet. There are two types of web search options in Alfred: General Web Search and Trusted Web Sources Only.
When you select General Web Search, Alfred can access the entire internet.
When you select Trusted Web Sources Only you can customize which websites Alfred has access to. By default, Alfred will access the following websites when using Trusted Web Sources:
- Bloomberg
- Wall Street Journal
- Financial Times
- Reuters
- CNBC
- Market Watch
- Yahoo Finance
- Seeking Alpha
- Investing.com
- Benzinga
You can customize your source list, add your own sources, and remove any of the pre-set sources by hitting the View Trusted Sources button.
Transparency in Ask Alfred
You can click on the Sources Bar in the top right corner of any Alfred response to vet where the data came from. Alfred first leverages internal time series and documents data from trusted sources, then supplements its response with data from trusted external sources and the broader web.
You can also click into the “Alfred took X minutes to reason through this" banner at the top of any response. You’ll see the full plan and even the underlying code execution.
Document Search
Document Search isolates Alfred to only search across all company filings, transcripts, presentations, and central bank documents that are indexed in the Reflexivity system. This results in a faster response for users who know that their response should come from a document.
